Maribel was born together with her brothers in Virginia but details of the family's lives aren't available. was a child of parents and grandparents. As a child she was interested in working in the field of law as an attorney. After high school graduation in the year 1819, she attended at the University of Virginia, where she graduated with a concentration in German and Foreign Policy. Thomas Jefferson, who was one of the Declaration of Independence's authors, established the Virginia University in 1819. The university now has over 100 courses centered around Jefferson's Academical Village - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The campus covers 1,600 acres for the main campus, and hundreds of acres in its Research Park as well as the Farm.
