Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. In her early Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over 100 Years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role of Essie. The actress has also appeared on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first role as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford, who was born in Denver, now spends time between Los Angeles and New York.

Brisbane Australia, where you were born and raised. She is the daughter of an English dad. Clemens began her career as a host on Australian television while in high school. She appeared as Juliet in the show Blue Water High in 2006 and also acted as Alison as part of The Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji children's program in 2007.
